Carol Marston-Foucher, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Carol Marston-Foucher completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Ferris State University in 1980, graduating with highest distinction.
From 1981 through 1987 she served as a clinical instructor for optometric interns from Ferris at a Detroit clinic. She received certification as a Low Vision Specialist in 1986, and was admitted to Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 1989.
She was appointed by the Governor to the Michigan Board of Optometry and served from 1991 through 2000. She is a past-president of the Wayne County Society of Optometrists, and has served in numerous committee positions on the State level.
In 1995 Dr. Marston-Foucher was named a "Key Person" of the Michigan Optometric Association.
Joyce Takahashi, O.D.
Dr Joyce Takahashi graduated from Franklin High School in Livonia. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and graduated with honors in 1985 from the Illinois College of Optometry with her Doctor Of Optometry degree. She was appointed by the Governor to the Michigan Board of Optometry from 1994-2002. She was previously with a large group practice in the Ann Arbor area and specializes in Pediatric/Developmental Vision and Visual Rehabilitation of Traumatic Brain Injured patients including Vision Therapy based treatment programs. She also has advanced training in Orthokeratology and Corneal Refractive Therapy, non-surgical techniques to correct nearsightedness and other vision defects. Her professional affiliations include the Michigan Optometric Association, College of Optometrists in Visual Development, Optometric Extension Program, Neuro-Optometric Visual Rehabilitation Association, and the National Eye Research Foundation.
Shea Ferree Carney, O.D.
Dr. Shea Ferree Carney completed both her undergraduate and doctoral studies at Indiana University. She graduated with honors from the College of Optometry and has received awards for her leadership and dedicated service to the profession of optometry.
During her studies, Dr. Carney was at the world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida where she received training in ocular disease and genetic disorders. While at the Bowersox Vision Center near Louisville, Kentucky Dr. Carney gained clinical experience in pediatrics, binocular vision problems, optometric neuro-rehabilitation and primary care.
Her professional memberships include the Michigan Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Office Manager
Val, our office manager has been with our practice for over 28 years. She manages a variety of responsibilities for the doctors, staff and patients, including answering general questions and concerns, and resolving billing and insurance issues. In 2005, Val was honored by the Livonia Chamber of Commerce as "Livonia's Office Manager of the Year."
Front Office Staff
Carroll, Debbie and Karen staff our front office, and can help you with a variety of needs including scheduling appointments, answering questions about billing and insurance coverage, and completing insurance forms.
Optometric Technician
Kathie is our optometric technician. She helps the doctors with examination pre-testing, contact lens wearing instruction and special procedures such as retina photographs and visual field testing.
Optician
Doug is our optician. He has over 30 years of experience both in labaratory work and in frame selection, adjustment and problem solving. He enjoys helping patients to select the perfect frame and lens design, and adjusts glasses carefully to provide you with an optimal fit.
