Eye Health Evaluation

Your eyes can reveal a lot about your overall health. Changes in your eyes can occur due to the onset of many diseases, including high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. Our doctors perform evaluation tests to look for signs and symptoms of different health issues, and not only those directly impacting your eyes.

The evaluation includes a regular eye exam, but we also look for signs of other issues such as:

Glaucoma which damages the optic nerve due to increased pressure inside the eye. If left untreated, it can cause blindness. Early detection of glaucoma is crucial. If diagnosed with this condition patients are monitored using laser diagnostic imaging and computerized visual field analysis.

Cataracts are easily recognizable when the internal lens of your eye becomes cloudy. If cataract surgery is necessary, our Optometrists work with your eye surgeon to manage and ensure the best post-operative care.

Binocular vision occurs when each of your eyes forms its own image and transfers these images to the brain. Your brain fuses these two images into one. Healthy binocular vision produces important visual perceptual skills that are part of the normal human vision. For this to work correctly, your eyes must move together, be aligned, and produce the same size and shape of the image. When this does not happen correctly, it is difficult to seeclearly and often causes strain or headaches.

We also conduct a series of tests to assess the ability of your eye muscles. If there is a problem with your eye muscles, our vision therapy program will improve your vision.
